Chesterfield’s in Utica has been a local staple for more than 30 years. Now they have a second location with the same high level of quality they’ve always delivered to your table. At Tavolo, guests can still order the Utica greens that Chesterfield’s is famous for, as well as signature dishes like chicken riggies. But with the dining landscape evolving, Tavolo wants to bring fresh new ideas to the area, too. Coal-fired pizzas and local beers on tap are part of the new offerings.
While Eddie’s Restaurant in Sylvan Beach is well-known for their hotdogs, it’s also the birth of the “Original Hot Ham Sandwich.” Legend has it that this happy accident occurred on a summer day when Eddie Sr. ran out of hot dogs. Knowing he had to feed hundreds of hungry tourists, Eddie whipped up one of his favorites, grilled capicola ham on a seeded roll. Eddie Sr. said the people fell in love with the hot ham sandwich and kept coming back for more. 85 years later, Eddie’s is still serving up their legendary home-cooked dinners, including the Hot Ham Sandwich. We suggest you try it with a fried egg…yum!
