A decade ago, Jacksonville, Florida was home to just one craft brewery. Today, its growing craft beer scene is hoppin’ with more than 18 locally-owned, locally-crafted breweries, each with unique signature beers that reflect the flavors and flair of Jax. Much of the growth is recent. About a third of the area’s breweries were licensed in 2017 with plans in the works to open more across the city. The Jax beer scene has grown so much in fact, that the “Jax Ale Trail” was created in 2014 – a beer enthusiasts travel guide to enjoying a pint at each location, while earning branded swag along the way.

Jacksonville boasts hundreds of handmade flavors on tap, and these carefully curated selections are easy to sample during a brewery tour, a tasting room flight or can be found ready to carry out and enjoy at home. Good beers and good vibes are always plentiful in Jax!

The Jax Ale Trail passport is the local guide created to help visitors experience all that Jacksonville’s craft beer scene has to offer, covering the unique personalities and locations of specialty production facilities and robustly stocked beer shops. With each brewery clearly described and mapped, craft beer enthusiasts are able to take in the wide array of brew houses across the city.

Experiencing the local brewery scene is easier in Jax! Curious visitors can explore the individually described locations on their own or enjoy selected stops from The Jax Brew Bus with offered pick-ups at area hotels. For those enjoying the outdoors, Kayakers can paddle up to Wicked Barley along the banks of Goodby’s Creek.

Family friendly stops are also common along the Ale Trail.  All ages are welcome at many of the stops serving a full-menu alongside their sudsy specials.
