Charleston’s newest luxury boutique hotel, Hotel Bella Grace, is pleased to announce its official opening today, August 27, in conjunction with the completion and restoration of the circa 1830 Delaney House.

Hotel Bella Grace is named in honor of the incredible acts of faith and forgiveness demonstrated by the families of the Emmanuel Nine, and this concept of selfless grace serves as a daily touchstone of inspiration for the hotel. Located at 115 Calhoun Street within the Mother Emmanuel Memorial District, the hotel is one block from Marion Square and the Gaillard Performing Arts Center nestled in downtown Charleston’s Ansonborough Neighborhood. The custom-designed, 50-room luxury boutique hotel is a remarkable combination of high functionality and stunning décor.

Inside the hotel, architectural and interior design features blend and contrast historic and contemporary genres. Thoughtful application of art, lighting and décor subtly illustrates the history of Hotel Bella Grace while simultaneously creating a comfortable and delightful ambiance. Upon entering the reception area, black and grey wood flooring strikes a beautiful contrast with soaring shears, dramatic 10-foot marble slabs and white brick walls. An eye-catching pair of female portraits bank the sitting room, which is center-pieced by a modern chandelier, rich leather couches and glistening candles amplified through a single row of large crystal vases. Emotionally engaging aesthetics signal guests to expect something special at Hotel Bella Grace.

Upstairs, the hallways of each floor are lined with custom-designed wool carpet in colors of gold, black and silver. Modern light fixtures illuminate more captivating works of art, all hand-selected from female artists. As guests enter the room their eyes are immediately drawn to large, dramatic chandeliers, designed to be the focal point of all suites. The aesthetic of each guest room is spacious and remarkably functional with European-style full kitchens, ILLY Coffee service, intimate living rooms and state of the art guest entertainment. The Penthouse Suite is intentionally designed for entertaining, offering a full kitchen, living room and dining area. The highlight of this suite is its outdoor terrace, from which you can see ten Charleston church steeples. To further enhance the guest experience, Hotel Bella Grace also offers an innovative pre-arrival concierge, including grocery shopping services and trip customization provided through an exclusive partnership with Tick Tock Concierge. Guests will be fully-equipped to enjoy their time in Charleston with these conveniences and guest rooms reminiscent of a French pied-à-terre.

The Delaney House at Hotel Bella Grace is an architectural gem that offers an intimate connection to Charleston’s layered history. Originally built as a Charleston single house, the building was owned by generations of Irish immigrants and served as home to a variety of renters, including Ludwig Lewisohn, a well-known novelist, critic and scholar of the 20th century. The Delaney House is imprinted with past centuries of the strong women who lived and worked there, and their passion for a united family, a prosperous future and a strong sense of community serve as inspiration for the detailed renovation of each room within the home. Today, the restored Delaney House is the center of hospitality for Hotel Bella Grace’s guests, serving everything from breakfast to light bites to refreshing beverages on the porch, and acts as a communal place for hotel guests to gather.

Hotel Bella Grace and The Delaney House at Hotel Bella Grace are operated by Local Hotel Adventures, and are both Marriott-affiliated and members of the Marriott Rewards Loyalty Program. For more information and for reservations, visit
