The event will begin with a 5K run and 1-mile fun run throughout and around the Waterway Village in Gulf Shores. The event will also be complete with crawfish races, arts and crafts vendors and an authentic 80-foot shrimp boat offering fun for visitors of all ages.
For the wine connoisseurs visiting Alabama’s beaches, Waves of Wine is the ideal event. Featuring more than 120 wines from across the country, live music, art vendors, and culinary treats from the area’s many distinguished local restaurants, this event is one of the most celebrated on the island. Guests even receive a custom wine glass and custom wine bag with purchase of a ticket.
Orange Beach is home to one of the largest charter fishing fleets in the Gulf of Mexico. Since 1998, the city has hosted the Orange Beach Billfish Classic. This tournament is the first of the season and of the Gulf Coast Triple Crown Series. Held at The Wharf Entertainment Complex, the event attracts some of the Southeast’s most talented deep sea fisherman. The public is invited to attend the weigh-ins for the tournament on Friday and Saturday night, with the big celebration taking place on Saturday night. This event raises funds for the Billfish Foundation and the Coastal Conservation Association.
Undoubtedly one of the most popular and highly anticipated festivals of the year is Hangout Music Festival. Celebrating its sixth year on Alabama’s beaches, this festival is sure to deliver yet another weekend of epic music and unforgettable experiences. With performances by The Weeknd, Alabama Shakes, Lenny Kravitz, and many more, there will be sets worth seeing for all ages and music tastes. The music festival also offers a craft beer tent, Ferris Wheel and Mega-Drop rides, art by local and regional talents and delicious food made by some of the finest chefs from across the Southeast.
