Looking for some laidback beach vibes without all the hustle and bustle? Torrance just might be the perfect spot to lay your beach towel for some fun in the sun. The city is home to some of the best kept secrets of Southern California, like its 1.5 miles of uncrowded, pristine coastline. Bordering Redondo Beach and the Palos Verdes Peninsula, the uncrowded dream of surf and sand is a great spot to watch local surfers catch a wave. (Plus, unlike other area beaches, it’s pretty easy to snag a parking spot.) And when you’re done catching some rays, hop on The Strand – the 22-mile bike path that leads all the way to Will Rogers State Park in Malibu. There are bike rentals available from local hotels, as well as Marina Bike Rentals. Make a day of it or stop along the way for an impromptu game of volleyball or sand castle building. No matter what you decide to do, there are plenty of options for all the beach goers in your party. And if you need a place to plot your adventure, take refuge in one of the city’s many exciting hotels and take advantage of some great onsite amenities, like pools, outdoor patios and bars. Some even offer free breakfast, parking and area shuttles.

After all that beach time, you may be on the hunt for a culinary bite or two. Fear not, Torrance has more than 400 eateries in town and has been dubbed “The Ramen Capitol of Southern California.” There’s also plenty to be hoppy about as you explore the city’s 11 craft breweries and cheers to a vacay well planned. Or if you’re craving something a bit more decadent, you won’t be disappointed there either! At last count, there were at least 22 options to satisfy your sweet tooth, like local favorite Creamistry, which offers made-to-order liquid nitrogen ice cream in crazy-good flavors like Fruity Pebbles, Matcha Green Tea or Monster Cookie.

Beyond the Torrance city limits, you’re also a hop, skip and a jump from other attractions – like Disneyland and Dignity Health Sports Park – home of the LA Galaxy and Los Angeles Chargers. Long Beach is minutes away as well and has one of the best aquariums in Southern California.  And if all that wasn’t enough, Torrance is only 15 minutes from LAX, so you can start your vacay in record time! Just check in to your hotel then check out all the experiences to be had in and around Torrance. Staying here might be the easiest, and best, decision you make this year.
