As you journey along the Adams County Pour Tour, take in the stunning countryside views throughout the county. These orchards, vineyards and farms are where the magic first begins! Our farmers are devoted to growing the best ingredients to be used in local cuisine, and, yes, our favorite drinks too! At Thirsty Farmer Brew Works check out the bines brimming with new hops before they are turned into tasty brews. And hops aren’t the only thing they grow! Their food menu is full of dishes created using fresh fruits and vegetables straight from their farm. Boyer Nurseries & Orchards is a family operation that has been in the farming business for over 100 years. More recently, they opened Boyer Cellars to sell wines and ciders made with the fruits they grow on their farm. And at Halbrendt Vineyard & Winery you can enjoy your wine in the picnic area overlooking their gorgeous vineyard views.
Once the fruits, grains and hops are ripe and ready, the farmers pass them along to the beverage makers. Throughout your Adams County Pour Tour journey, you’ll have the opportunity to meet these passionate beverage makers and learn about their craft. Tour the distillery at Mason Dixon Distillery and learn about the distilling process – including how they source most of their raw grains from Gettysburg National Military Park! At Center Square Brewing you’ll find Sarah Moran, one of the area’s only female brewers. Discover how she paved her way into the brewing industry. Behind every farm, every beverage and every pour is a story waiting to be told.
Once you collect ALL the stamps, you’ve reached The Grand Pour! By this time, you’ll be an expert on Adams County craft beverages and your prize is an entry to win an overnight getaway to Gettysburg. During your stay you can grab a new passport and begin again or learn about the Civil War history of the area with a battlefield tour on a Segway. Grab a bite at a mouthwatering farm-to-table restaurant and take home your own local produce from the area’s farm markets. Shop at the eclectic boutiques downtown or the premier outlet shops to find that perfect souvenir from your visit. With the perfect blend of agriculture and history, the possibilities are endless!
