“One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.”

-Travel memoirist Henry Miller

Each year Quebec throws an enormous party with its Winter Carnival, one of the largest in the world. Headlined by the International Snow Sculpture Competition, this tradition-rich festival, planned for Jan. 29 to Feb. 14, 2016, features ice-canoe races, ice bars, night parades, an outdoor museum of intricate snow sculptures, ice skating, dog sledding, snow slides and sleigh rides and more. Travel experts Luiz Hoinkis and Justin Keeperman of WGY Lifestyle, a full-service lifestyle management company and IATAN-certified travel agency, say that Winter Carnival “brings people from around the world together. It doesn’t matter where you’re from, how old you are or what your interests are – Winter Carnival caters to everyone. Tie on your arrowhead sash, blow the red trumpet and gain entry to festival fun with your effigy. www.QuebecRegion.com, www.Carnaval.qc.ca/en
