With a dining room perched on a coastal bluff, Pismo Beach’s Ventana Grill embraces the unparalleled splendor of the natural world, and invites guest to do the same. “Ventana” is Spanish for window, and the views from this restaurant’s dining room ventanas are breathtaking.  Enjoy Crab Encrusted Mahi Mahi or Pipián Sea Bass and become entranced by the vivid colors of the endless azure blue ocean and rich crimson sunsets.

Pismo Beach’s location along the Central Coast of California, half way between San Francisco and Los Angeles, makes it the ideal jumping off point for exploring the rich wine regions of Edna Valley, Paso Robles, and to the south the Santa Barbara and Santa Ynez wine regions made famous by the movie Sideways.

The Paso Robles region is home to Niner Wine Estates which offers a unique food and wine pairing experience spearheaded by Executive Chef Maegen Loring. The menu is inspired by locally sourced ingredients, some of which are grown on the estate’s property. “I love working with pairings, because wine really is a living organism; it’s breathing and changing constantly” says Loring, a self-proclaimed farmer’s market addict.

Pismo Beach also hosts several annual food and wine events throughout the year. Each spring top Chardonnay producers from around the world gather in the seaside towns of Pismo Beach and Avila Beach for the Chardonnay Symposium. Guests gain a deeper appreciation of one of the world’s noble grapes during an in-depth, three-day immersion in the Chardonnay Symposium’s vineyard-to-glass series of seminars.

The area offers a wide variety of lodging options to meet the needs of every traveler, from oceanfront hotels with stunning vistas to family-friendly vacation rentals, and award-winning RV parks. A number of accommodations and excursions are also available for your pup – some of the region’s wineries even extended a warm welcome to four-legged family members!
